Pressure seal bonnet gate valves are most commonly used in high-temperature and high-pressure environments such as power plants, where the body's internal pressure pushes the bonnet upward to prevent leakage. They feature a design that does not rely on bolts for fastening, eliminating the need for a top flange and resulting in a shorter face-to-face distance compared to bolted bonnet valves. They are lighter in weight and are typically welded directly onto piping, primarily using butt welding.
